Langtown Outfitters and Guide Service is owned by Mert & Carol Buzzell, Registered Maine Guides. Married in 1980, we have two children and five grandchildren. Over 2 decades ago we built the camp of our dreams in Lang Township in the Western Mountains of Maine. We also have a cabin that sleeps 6-8 comfortably for rent and in the process of building another. Each cabin has a fully equipped kitchen and all the modern amenities for your convenience. Most of our trips include lodging, meals and guide service but can be changed if desired. We look forward to custom designing your dream trip whether it be snowmobile, ATV, hunting, kayaking or just a weekend away with your friends and loved ones.

In all seasons, Mert and Carol look forward to providing you with the best  experience possible and creating the greatest memories. Give us a call today to book your next adventure.

You deserve it!

Mert Buzzell has a love and passion for the outdoors. This passion has allowed him to hunt, fish and recreate in the great State of Maine where he was born and raised. He decided to become a Registered Maine Guide to share his knowledge with others. An avid outdoorsman, very familiar with the Langtown, Eustis & Rangeley areas, he specializes in moose hunts, muzzleloader deer hunts, ATV and snowmobile rides.

When not guiding he continues his career as a Utilities Locater but is a jack-of-all trades who loves tinkering on everything and doing carpentry work. With a lifetime of experience in the Maine woods, Mert is looking forward to assisting you on your exhilarating trip of a lifetime.

Mert is a member of the Sportsman's Alliance of Maine, Rangeley Region Guide's & Sportsman Association and member of several area ATV and snowmobile clubs.

Carol Buzzell is a lifelong resident of Greene, Maine. With their recent move to Hartford we can find her working as Deputy Clerk for the Town of Canton. Carol is a Registered Maine Guide for Hunting and Recreation. She's an avid outdoorswoman and has passed that love of the outdoors onto her family. She treasures spending quality time with her husband and family. You can often find her hunting whitetail deer, turkey and partridge or kayaking, snowmobiling and ATVing.

Carol also enjoys doing genealogy research, scrapbooking, outdoor cooking and fly tying. She and Mert have traveled to Alaska where they caught several halibut and she caught a nice King Salmon on the Kenai River.

As a Registered Maine Guide her specialty is the "Women's Weekend Get-Away" where she gives women the chance to learn new skills or improve their current skills in a variety of topics and in a comfortable environment. A fabulous adventure weekend with friends filled with laughter and learning.

Carol enjoys staying busy. She is a member of the Sportsman's Alliance of Maine, Rangeley Region Guides & Sportsman's Association and Maine Professional Guides Association, a former board member for Women of the Maine Outdoors and Friends of Becoming an Outdoors Women (BOW), along with many other committees and organizations.
