DownloadA casual walk along the backyard trails, we'll look for wildlife signs. Deer, rabbit, fox and moose are frequent visitors to our backyard. We'll find where deer have bedded down for the night, visit a creature den, hear the many species of birds singing in the trees and identify the tracks of other area wildlife. We may even catch a glimpse of who is making the tracks! This nature walk is great for the beginner. Wear comfortable shoes or hiking boots.
Whittle your own hiking stick or walking staff as they are sometimes called. Learn safe knife handling and sharpening skills. Bring your own knife (a lock back-folding knife or sheath knife). You can personalize your new creation with pyrography (woodburning). This is a fun class!
Learn why, when, where and how to attract birds to your backyard. Build your own bird house using common household tools. You can even woodburn a design on it if you choose.
Learn how to create wildlife habitat right in your backyard, from small mammal habitat to bird habitat. Learn what components are needed for the wildlife you're trying to attract and what not to plant. Great fun for those that love watching wildlife close to home. You will build a bird house of your own to take home.
Connect to nature as we slowly meander along the forest path while listening to the birds, looking at the different greens of the trees, smelling the fragrance of the forest air, dipping your toes in a stream while we drink in the flavour of the forest and connect to nature through our senses. Also known as Forest Bathing.
Renew, Replenish & Rediscover.
Learn about wild turkey habitat and behavior, hunting gear, calling, hunting safety and ethics and how to dress and clean your turkey. You'll even make your own turkey box call to take home.
Learn how to stay safe in the outdoors. Participants will learn outdoor skills and what to do if lost, how to build a shelter, make a fire, signal for help, purify water, find food and recognize the signs of hypothermia. People prepared to survive are least likely to end up in a life-threatening situation. Lots of hands-on. Feel more comfortable in your ability to cope with the unexpected!
You've got your deer, NOW WHAT? Proper care of game in the field is very important part of hunting ethics. This is often a very difficult thing to learn on your own. This class will review the procedure for field dressing a white tail deer. Be prepared for a hands-on opportunity.
How exciting it is to find your very first antler shed! We'll discuss some tips and tricks to finding them. What time of year, where and how to look for them. A little luck is very helpful too! Then we'll go for a short hike to see what we can find.

The afternoon will be spent outside building survival shelters, rescue fires and navigating through the woods so dress appropriately. In addition learn basic winter aid techniques.
This is a women's weekend favorite! Cooking outdoors over an open fire is challenging and fun! You'll learn to build a fire, cook directly over the hot coals using a Dutch Oven, pie iron, foil packs and reflector oven. You will be able to try several different ways of cooking over a campfire. Recipes will be shared and everyone will gt a chance to prepare and sample a variety of dishes - even desserts! This is a fun hands-on campfire cooking class.

We’ll travel to a mountain top and have a 360 degree panoramic view for miles and miles, as far as you can see of the most brilliant Autumn colors. We can even cook up your catch of the day. Don't forget your waders or water shoes! If you don't have your own gear, just let us know and we can supply it for you.
